2010 Candlelight Memorial Vigil - January

A simple but profound memorial took place at the Harvest Baptist Church in Bay City on the eve of the 37th anniversary of the legalization of abortion in America. The somber focus was the 50 million unborn babies lost to us....forever....including 6,960 from Bay County. Also recognized was the enormous pain experienced by millions of moms, dads, other family members and friends around the United States as a result of legal abortion. "We mourn the loss. We mourn their pain. Our intention is to remember those lost to abortion and to let the public know that abortion not only kills unborn babies but can also kill the spirit of mothers. If you are a post abortive person we welcome you and embrace you. We do not judge you but rather it is our hope that by recognizing your pain others will be encouraged to choose life. Even though those who support abortion rights loudly claim that abortion is good for women we know better. Abortion kills the unborn and hurts women too." The vigil is a solemn reminder of the innocent lives lost to legalized abortion since the Supreme Court decision in Roe v. Wade in 1973.

2010 High School Oratory Contest - February

On Monday, February 17, Bay County Right to Life sponsored its 2nd annual Oratory Contest. The third place winner was John Glenn Senior Lauren Moore.  Second place winner was Joe Martin, also from John Glenn.  The first place winner who will represent us on May 8 at the state competition is Kylie Wojciechowski, a sophomore at All Saints High School.  Kylie’s presentation was entitled “It Makes Perfect Sense,"  “Fetuses are undeveloped infants, which are undeveloped children, which are undeveloped adults, which are undeveloped elders. Each stage of life is purposed towards preparing us for the next stage of life…….” Congratulations to Kylie on her win and we sincerely appreciate the efforts of all the contestants!

2010 Women's Expo - March

This year's Women's Expo drew thousands of grandmothers, mothers, daughters, and granddaughters (and a few men too!) to the event held on March 6th at Valley Plaza.  The Bay County Right to Life booth reached many, many area residents and distributed thousands of pieces of pro-life material to remind all attendees of the value of human life.  A special thanks to Lisa and April Goss, Denise and Elizabeth Davidson, Migali Wooley, Darlene Anderson and her daughter, and Kathy Ratajczak for volunteering to work at our booth!

2009 Annual Focus on Life Benefit Dinner - October

We had 274 people in attendance this year!  Thanks to all who came and supported us and were encouraged by our motivational speaker, Kaye Lani Rae Rafko-Wilson, Miss America 1988, to stand for what is right and to never give up the fight.  May God bless all efforts to build "a world where the God-given dignity and rights of every man, woman and child are cherished, protected and effectively advanced." (Pope Benedict XVI)

2009 St. Mary's Benefit Breakfast - October

St. Mary's Catholic Church hosted their monthly breakfast in October for the benefit of BCRTL, which also included a raffle and bake sale.  A special thank you to St. Mary's for all their support and hard work to make this event happen on our behalf!

2009 Cross Project - October

This year our annual cross display was set up on the front lawn of Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Essexville.  Each year, this display is a powerful reminder of how many of the very smallest of human life have lost their lives in Michigan.
