Bishops' Statement on 2010 Elections Drafted--Distributed to Parishes Statewide

The arch/bishops of the seven Roman Catholic arch/dioceses of Michigan have composed a statement on the 2010 elections which has been distributed to Catholic parishes statewide.  The statement, A Call to Conscience: Faithful Citizenship and the Common Good, reminds Catholics of their moral obligation to participate in the democratic process, to form their consciences based on Scripture and Catholic Social Teaching, and to evaluate candidates through the lens of faith.  Read entire statement at: http://www.micatholicconference.org/public-policy/news-releases/bishops-statement-on-2010-elections-headed-to-parishes/

It's Easy to Be Pro-Life...

...when critical thinking is applied to the abortion issue. Using critical thinking allows people to form opinions on issues facing us today.  When applying this thought process to the issue of abortion and arguments put forth in the name of being “pro-choice,” the natural intellectual conclusion is the prolife perspective.  Click on the link to read the arguments, stay informed, and get ideas to be involved!   http://www.rtl.org/action_center/easytobeprolife.html

"Any country that accepts abortion
is not teaching its people to love,
but to use any violence to what
they want. This is why the
greatest destroyer of love
and peace is abortion."

- Mother Teresa
