Inspirational Stories, Poems, VideosCHOICESThis society bases their choices on what they want. No matter what the woman’s life has been like leading up to the point of pregnancy, they are given a choice. The question they are asked seems simple. Do you want to have this baby? In reality, the question is really asking this: do you want the responsibility of having this baby or do you want to kill it and continue on with your life as is? Which choice is easier: killing their child before ever having the chance to go through with the pregnancy, or giving birth to the child and raising him or giving him away? I don’t believe either choice is easy. Mother's Love
Winning Entry of 2010 Mother's Love Contest I'll never forget the day that God made known to me that I was going to have a baby. He had given me motherhood. What joy I felt in my heart. I couldn't see, I could only imagine what was growing inside of me. For eight more months I dreamed and planned for our child.
It was an uneventful pregnancy but a very difficult delivery. The labor was 3 days. I prayed for my child's life knowing this was not normal and sharing those fears with my doctor. He decided to help nature along as much as he could and we delivered a healthy baby boy. I cried for my baby to cry. He was so quiet after his birth. I was the oldest of 12 children myself, all born at home, they cried at birth. My doctor said babies get tired from birth also. Our son was fine - quite bruised but he assured me that he would do plenty of crying eventually. And he did.
Being a mother is planning, praying and thinking, working to provide service in one way or another to all you have contact with. "Mother them." Babies come first, they are helpless.
My mother was special because I cannot remember a time when she would not drop what she was doing to help someone else - relative, neighbor or family member. I know that is why I am the way I am, she was my model. There is much joy in mothering - it comes back and reproduces itself. God made us to be this way and why he told Adam and Eve their first command was to increase and multiply and fill the earth. We Co-Create with God.
When you hold a little baby it's the most pure joy there is. I was blessed with five - 2 boys and 2 girls and one in heaven. I long to know and will know in God's time.
"Mother's Love" produces Love, Joy, Peace, long suffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, meekness and self control.
Sincerely,
Cecilia Beiser
"Can I Live" by Nick Canon "Can I Live" is a powerful song/video written and directed by Nick Canon based on his own true story in 1979. Nick's mom chose to give him life, and in this song he asks the question of every unborn child whose mother may be questioning life, "Can I live?" We thank God for Nick Canon's testimony and courage in making this video and standing for unborn life. Stitches of Love This fun and unique way of supporting life is off to a great start. Since the project's inception in the Fall 2009, Stitches of Love has donated 127 items (newborn hats, booties, blankets and sweaters) to Bay Regional Medical Center's birthing center. We know that our little “With Love from Bay County Right to Life” tags are remaining on the items as we have heard from several people who have received our donations. Special thanks to Pat Gyurich, Mary Ann Zawacki, Wyn Deska, Bernice Sutkowi and newcomer Barb Forsyth. If you would like to be involved in this project or have any questions, please call Denise at (989) 450-3366. WHAT DOES MOTHERHOOD MEAN TO ME?
Winning Entry of 2009 Mother's Love Contest Sometimes I wonder what my life would have been like if I were raised by my seventeen year-old biological mother. Thanks to my mother, Jean Breunig, I will never have to know. My mother was open to adoption and I was the fourth child in our family to benefit from her generosity. Without any words I learned that motherhood means “joy”. I admire my mother tremendously. She gave me her everything. Her own mother died after giving birth to my mother and her twin brother. Someone once commented, “Then how did she know how to be a good mother?” Her mother mothered her from heaven was the reply. I am very grateful to my biological mother for giving me the gift of life and to my mother who raised me who embraced and nurtured this gift. I am reminded of these two valiant women who gave their lives for me every time I look into the eyes of my ten beautiful, precious children.

March of DimesIn 2004 March of Dimes commissioned a report entitled Global Report on Birth Defects, the Hidden Toll of Dying and Disabled Children. Throughout the report, it is clear that the primary goal of MOD is reducing the number of babies born with birth defects through a variety of preventive and treatment programs. Unfortunately, with its emphasis on pre-natal diagnosis and reproductive choice, it leaves no doubt that abortion is still a strategic part of the plan. For this reason prolifers are encouraged to continue to boycott MOD until such time they recognize the value of all life, perfect and imperfect. (Taken from Life Issues Connector, July 2006) |
